Thelma Retreat is a self-contained apartment in a secluded southern Tasmanian garden within the Huon Valley.
The retreat is six km south of the seaside town, Dover.
This one bedroom apartment has all linen supplied, separate bathroom, lounge room with a sofa bed, and fully equipped large kitchen-dining opening onto patio overlooking a garden of fragrant roses. There is no laundry but a laundromat is available at Dover.
You will enjoy the birdlife and quietness of the garden and surrounding bushland. Experience the stillness of life without television and have time for other activities you enjoy such as photography, painting, writing, reading or contemplation.
Another experience to enjoy is eating at the Wholefood Teahouse, open September to end of April. Here, organic flour is milled through a stone mill then bread, scones, cakes, pies, and more are baked and served along with organic teas and organic filter coffee.
Trout fishing on the Esperance River is a few minutes walk away. It is only a short drive to pristine beaches, Hastings Caves, thermal springs and swimming pool. Hartz Mountains which is part of the world heritage area, Tahune AirWalk and many bushwalks are within a one-hour drive....
